We facilitate the process for individuals navigating family disputes by offering a crucial pre-court meeting with a neutral mediator.
The Calgary and Edmonton Family Courts now mandate an Alternative Dispute Resolution Process as a pre-requisite to applying to the Alberta Court of Justice or to King’s Bench via Family Docket Court. Our service aims to assist parties in resolving their differences amicably, potentially eliminating the need for further legal action to begin with.
Our ADR approach aims to streamline the mediation process by swiftly evaluating the main positions on the issues. I will assess whether each party’s position aligns with what a Court might award or if it veers into unreasonable territory. I will hear from the Applicant first, then from the Respondent, and then I will give the Applicant an opportunity to reply to any new information that the Respondent has raised. I will then render my opinion as an early neutral evaluator. This process is designed to replicate the procedures typically encountered in a Chambers Application.

We facilitate discussions in a neutral environment, allowing each party to express their concerns and work towards mutually beneficial solutions.
Your meeting will be led by a lawyer who has 10 years of experience in the Calgary and Edmonton Family Court system. We adopt a direct and practical approach to offer guidance, providing valuable insights into the potential trajectory of your court case should you opt for litigation instead of pursuing a settlement.
We offer our services at a flat rate of $200.00 + GST for a session that will allow you access to Calgary’s Family Court. We host our sessions over Zoom
